Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Nim Rainu

I had the honour of presenting a posthumous Woman Who… Change Champion Award to the remarkable Nim Rainu and her beautiful family. Unique Therapies was proud to sponsor this special award in her name. Nim had been a finalist back in 2017 — and left a lasting impression on all who met her.

A Standing Ovation for a Life That Mattered

Sadly, Nim passed away in 2019. At this year’s Woman Who Awards, her achievements were celebrated with the recognition she so truly deserved. Her business, Bindis in Business, made a powerful impact in the community.

Her husband Raj and daughter accepted the award on her behalf. It was an incredibly moving moment — one that brought the entire room to its feet in a heartfelt standing ovation.

A Husband’s Promise to Carry the Legacy

Raj shared how proud he was of Nim and how committed he is to continuing the legacy she worked so hard to build. His words resonated with everyone present.

“My duty as her husband is to carry on her legacy.”

Nim’s Impact Lives On

Nim was a force. Her networking business grew from strength to strength and became a hub of support, especially within the Asian community. She championed diversity, encouraged skill-sharing, and built bridges between women in business.

This year’s event was especially poignant. I was reminded again of how vital it is that we lift each other up, celebrate achievements, and honour those who lead with heart.

Nim did that. And she continues to inspire us.

We are all better for having known her — and her legacy will live on through those she empowered.
