A Global Roundup of Mental Health Experts
I was recently asked to contribute to an international expert roundup titled:
“40 Health Experts Share Their Tips & Strategies for Optimizing Their Mental Health”, published by my American friends at Seasons in Malibu, a leading authority in addiction treatment.
It was an honour to share space with so many health and wellness professionals from around the world — and their advice is both fascinating and deeply useful. At a time of reflection and renewal, I wanted to share my full contribution with you here.

My Perspective: Resilience Is Key
I believe building up resilience to negativity and caring for one’s mental health are deeply connected. A strong, positive mindset is not something you’re born with — it’s something you build and protect daily.
Here are the key ways I recommend doing just that.
Strengthen the Mind
-
Keep learning — educating and stimulating the mind keeps it sharp and curious
-
Adapt to your environment — using what you learn to grow builds confidence and agility
-
Stay mentally active to support emotional balance and wellbeing
Connect with Your Purpose
-
Discover what makes you tick — passion pushes out negativity
-
When you know what drives you, it’s easier to move forward with clarity
Care for the Body, Too
-
Exercise + rest = resilience
-
Physical activity and mental breaks help regulate stress
-
Eating well and staying hydrated improves both mood and appearance, which supports confidence
Shape Your Environment
-
Surround yourself with uplifting, kind, and calm people
-
Create a soothing space at home and work
-
Eliminate toxic influences wherever possible
Find Role Models and Build Support Systems
-
Coaches, mentors, therapists, and loved ones all play a part
-
Learn from a variety of people — this builds adaptability, empathy, and strength
-
Spend time with those who help you see differently and grow consciously
Embrace Spirituality and Grounding Practices
-
Mindfulness, meditation, yoga, breathwork — all are now part of daily life for many
-
These tools help us centre ourselves before we hit crisis
Stay Positive — Even While Facing Reality
Resilient people don’t ignore challenges — they stay optimistic while addressing them.
Some useful strategies include:
-
Learn to handle pressure and criticism constructively
-
Spend time volunteering or with people less fortunate
-
Use contrast — “what’s the worst that could happen?” — to gain perspective
-
Push your own boundaries gently and celebrate growth
Don’t Isolate — Talk, List, Reset, Enjoy
In addition to the above:
-
Talk about how you feel — with someone you trust
-
Write lists to declutter the mind and stay on track
-
Take regular breaks to reset
-
Try new things — even simple joys help rebalance stress
Try Alternative Therapies and Stay Curious
We have more access than ever before to complementary therapies, healing methods, and wellness technologies. Stay open-minded. Learn. Try. Share what works.
Final Thoughts
I hope this article has shown you that nothing works in isolation.
Everything in life — physical, mental, emotional, spiritual — is interconnected.
When you begin to care for just one aspect, momentum builds, and you start to see life’s challenges through a more empowered lens.
