Perm Bassi meets Gloria Hunniford

Growing Older Doesn’t Have to Mean Slowing Down

I recently spent a fabulous afternoon at a seminar hosted by Gloria Hunniford and Dr Dawn Harper (from Embarrassing Bodies), exploring themes around ageing well, health, and longevity.

The event was titled “101 Ways to Enjoy Getting Older” — and it delivered on every front.

Inspiring Words from Gloria Hunniford

At 78 years old, Gloria was a warm and inspiring host. She reminded us that in just 30 years, four times as many people will be living past 85.

We explored why we’re living longer — and what that means for how we care for ourselves and each other.

Key Takeaways: How to Embrace the Ageing Process

The biggest message of the day? Let’s make ageing something to enjoy, not fear.

A few practical and uplifting tips I walked away with:

  • Eat well and nourish your body

  • Keep your mind active and joyful

  • Be kind — to yourself and those around you

  • Laugh — often and loudly!

Growing older is something we all face. But how we do it is up to us.
